About Kristin Varner
ristin Varner grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah. As a youngster she liked to doodle and ride her big wheel. In the 2nd grade as a birthday salute, her class proclaimed her to be "a good artist", and that's when her career really took off. Since graduating from Rhode Island School of Design in 1995, she's been doing whimsical illustration, dabbling in animation, and creating all kinds of fun stuff, primarily within the children's market.
She is currently teaching illustration courses in SOHO, NY and living in lovely Brooklyn, where she can sometimes be seen drinking overpriced coffee or riding her purple banana seat cruiser around the neighborhood. When she's not in the studio diligently at work, she spends her time in the great outdoors - on a bike, snowboard or climbing rocks.
